SendMeMore web site uses browser cookies extensively in order to enable navigation through the site. If your browser is not cookie enabled, you will not be able to properly log on, subscribe, or manage your user account. Below are a few answers to questions you may have about cookies. If you do not wish to enable cookies on your browser, but you still want to subscribe to a particular mail list, you need to contact the owner of that mail list. They will be able to "invite" you through email to join their list, and you can subscribe without using the web site. Click here to return to the page that referred you. Cookies FAQWhat are cookies?Cookies are very small files which our web server uses to store information on your hard drive. The web server tells your web browser the information, and the browser "remembers" this information from page to page as you navigate through the web site. How does SendMeMore use cookies?SendMeMore creates a cookie called "CMSUser" which stores basic user information. It then refers to this cookie in order to look up more detailed information in a database on our server. For example, we use your email address to look up which mail lists you are subscribed to. Can cookies be used to get other information off my hard drive? No. The web server can only look for the file which stores the SendMeMore cookie. SendMeMore can not look up anything else on your hard drive. Can cookies from this site be used to damage my computer?Absolutely not. The SendMeMore cookie is completely benign, and can't be used to store viruses or anything else harmful on your computer. It is simply a text file stored on your hard drive with your user information in it. Do SendMeMore cookies stay on my hard drive permanently? No. SendMeMore cookies all have an "expiration date" which causes them to automatically be deleted after a certain amount of time. Which web browsers support cookies?Cookies are reliably supported on all recent versions of Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you don't have the latest versions of either of these web browsers, we recommend you download them in order to view our site. How do I allow cookies to be used with my web browser? You may have cookies "turned off" in your browser options. If you are using Netscape, select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu, then click on "Advanced." Choose the radio button that says "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server," then click the OK button. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu, then click on the "Security" tab. Put your Internet Zone on a Medium security level.
